It's that time of year again when apples, in addition to being your friend, are dirt cheap too. I was very happy to see them for 39c per pound down the road at Best Yet, so never being one to pass up on a bargain, I came home with a substantial stack of them.
In all honesty, while I love to cook, baking is not my strong point so my apple repertoire is very limited. I sliced up quite a few, layered them in a dish with some Splenda and a little cinnamon (or is that cinammon - or even cinamon?), sprinkled some oatmeal on the top and baked them in the oven.
Should be a good and healthy dessert for this evening.
